Project One on One

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Project One on One began in 1996.  This program connects Atlanta’s homeless children with mentors who can help and encourage them to succeed in school.  Children living in group homes and shelters may not get the necessary assistance they need to complete homework or to improve academic skills.  That is why CRN’s Project One on One mentoring and tutoring program is so important.

CRN pairs volunteers with a group home or shelter where they dedicate their time to helping kids succeed in school.  Tutoring sessions are held in the facilities where the children live or in an after school program in their community. Dates and times for tutoring sessions vary based on location. We ask that all volunteers make a minimum commitment of four months of tutoring because this helps ensure stability for these kids. No prior experience is necessary. We welcome all volunteers who want to make a positive impact on the life of a child in need!

**We’ve temporarily suspended all volunteering for Project One on One due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Please check back in August 2020 for further updates.
